Oberon is the New Museum’s new restaurant. Nestled within the OMA-designed expansion led by Partner Shohei Shigematsu and Associate Jake Forster.

Operated by the Oberon Group—the team behind Rucola, Rhodora, Anais, and June—Oberon serves as both a neighborhood restaurant and a destination for the art community. The menu, led by Co-Executive Chefs Julia Sherman and Ali Ghriskey, emphasizes seasonal ingredients and every day dining. 

The ArtistS

Integral to the experience are ongoing collaborations with artists Ian Cheng, Minjae Kim, and Laurie Anderson, whose contributions are woven throughout the restaurant’s design, atmosphere, and programming.

Oberon encourages walk-ins.

Oberon welcomes groups of all sizes for gatherings ranging from intimate dinners to full restaurant buyouts and late-night celebrations. Whether you're marking a milestone, hosting a client dinner, or planning a brand activation, the space offers a flexible setting designed to encourage conversation, connection, and community. Located within the New Museum's OMA-designed building on the Bowery, it's a striking backdrop for any occasion.

The restaurant can accommodate:

• Large-party dining reservations for 7–20 guests

• Full restaurant seated lunch and dinner buyouts for up to 90 guests

• Full restaurant standing receptions for up to 100 guests

• Semi-private and full-buyout late-night events from 11pm–1am

For seated events, Oberon offers curated family-style menus from Co-Executive Chefs Julia Sherman and Ali Ghriskey that celebrate seasonal ingredients and generous, shareable dishes. For receptions, a selection of passed hors d'oeuvres are available. Beverage packages can be tailored to each event and feature a thoughtful selection of wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic offerings.
